Job Summary
The Warehouse Tech is responsible for a wide variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving, storage and issue of Med/Surg supplies, Records Management, Surplus Equipment and maintaining Inventory and associated records. They will also coordinate supply flow throughout the warehouse, prioritizing STAT and routine delivery schedules.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education: High school Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: 6 Months Working in a Hospital's Supply Chain or Materials Management Department
Substitutable Education & Experience (Optional): In lieu of 6 Months Working in a Hospital's Supply Chain or Materials Management Department, will consider either of the following:
1 Year Directly of Related Experience with Inventory Management (such as supply distribution, ordering, and inventory);
An Associate's Degree in a Supply Chain Management Field;
At least 1 Year of Experience that Demonstrated Aptitude for Supply Chain Management and Successful Performance in an LMC Position (To be Reviewed by Department Leadership).
Required Certifications/Licensure: Valid SC driver's license, specific to vehicle operated in the conduct of this job (Acceptable driving record).
Required Training: None.
Essential Functions
- Packages and prepares equipment and supplies prior to distribution.
- Fills orders by preparing supplies to be distributed to hospital and off site facilities.
- Processes paperwork for distribution of equipment and supplies.
- Ensures distribution forms, requisitions, purchase order forms and packaging slips are completed accurately.
- Stocks and stores warehouse with equipment and supplies.
- Ensures warehouse is maintained in an efficient, clean and safe manner.
- Reports stock levels to supervisor.
- Performs inventory cycle counts.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Acts as back-up to delivery employees when necessary.
- Receives, stores, issues, delivers supplies, equipment, and assists in unloading delivery trucks.
- Inspects incoming items for damage; verifies accuracy of shipment by counting items or other means and comparing with invoice or packing slip and purchase order; reports damage, shortage or discrepancies in the shipment; signs receipts for material received and processes required paperwork.
- Assists in moving furniture and equipment from storage to the hospital, or within the hospital or off-site locations.
- Responsible for maintaining records and reports that are contained on paper, microfilm and other media in the organization.
- Store, arrange, index and classify records.
- Maintain records in a way to meet the requirements of the legal, financial and administrative departments.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
