Job Summary

Assist the department Reimbursement Manager in the accumulation of data and preparation of third party payer cost reports and audits; preparing utilization and financial surveys and maintaining proper statistics needed for accurate reimbursement.

Minimum Qualifications

•Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business/Accounting or related area
•Minimum Years of Experience: 3 Years of experience in healthcare

Essential Functions

  • Maintain monthly statistics for cost reports.
  • Accumulate, verify & audit data that is required for the Medicare and Medicaid cost report noting trends and/or deviation for management review.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Medicare and Medicaid cost reports. 
  • Assist with government cost report audits/reviews for Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare.
  • Gather information necessary for completion of Federal and State utilization and  financial surveys.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the monthly preparation and analysis of third party reserves and account reconciliation.
  • Provide reimbursement data, such as ratios, reimbursement rates, etc., to hospital staff as necessary.
  • Assist in the financial audit and budget process as required. 
  • Research as necessary Medicare and Medicaid regulations for compliance and  financial impact.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries to record allowances. 
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
