Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Manager of Systems Administration, troubleshoots software and hardware problems related to LMC’s server and related infrastructure. Participates in or leads projects involving server infrastructure. Provides support for day to day issues/requests escalated to the Server Team. Installs new hardware and software. Replaces hardware as appropriate. Works collaboratively with teammates, other IS groups, business units, customers, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: 5 Years of experience supporting IT systems
Substitutable Education & Experience: 5 Years of experience can be substituted with an Associate's Degree with 3 years of experience supporting IT systems
Required Certifications/Licensure: None.
Required Training: Proven experience supporting Windows-based servers and related systems in an enterprise environment;
Experience supporting a Microsoft Active Directory domain;
Understanding of application and server virtualization using VMware and Citrix technologies;
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures related to server administration;
Outstanding hardware / software troubleshooting skills.

  • Support the mission of Lexington Medical Center.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains organization's server and related infrastructures.
  • Supports users.
  • Maintains an optimistic, professional, career oriented demeanor.
  • Exemplifies excellent customer relations toward patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by authorized personnel or as required in an emergency, e.g., fire or disaster.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Attend business and technical meetings as appropriate.
  • Communicate system changes with appropriate stakeholders as defined by IS Change Management Policy and Procedures documents.
  • Participates in professional development activities and periodically attends continuing education courses.
  • Mentors staff.
  • Teaches classes and provides in-services and knowledge transfers as needed.
  • Creates and maintains documentation to support server infrastructure and related systems.
  • Participates in routine downtime activities and other after hours and weekend work as needed.
