Job Summary

Supports the Assistant Vice President with the planning, evaluating, directing and controlling of the operational and financial functions of designated LMC owned physician practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
Minimum Years of Experience: 5 years of experience in physician practice management as office manager or higher-level practice administrator required.
Substitutable Education & Experience: May consider experience in practice management in lieu of education.
Required Certifications/Licensure: None.
Required Training: Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)

Essential Functions

  • Patient Care              
    • Prepares and/or reviews policies and procedures, working closely with practice staff  to ensure that patient care activities conform to established standards of care.   
    • Monitors patient satisfaction and patient care activities to ensure the delivery of  quality care.             
    • Ensures adequate levels of qualified staff available to meet patient’s needs, whose  attitudes are consistent with the LMC and the Physician Network goals and objectives.  
    • Demonstrates appropriate communication of information to all ages and responds to all customers/patients requests and needs, i.e. hard of hearing, age specific competencies, etc.            
    • Maintains a patient-oriented climate and ensures that patient’s psychological and medical needs are addressed.          
    • Organizes and ensures the implementation of quality management activities.   
    • Develops operations to best meet patient’s needs- ease of obtaining information, moving through the system, resolving concerns with minimal inconvenience.   
    • Monitors patient satisfaction and obtains feedback through methods such as questionnaires, telephone surveys and personal contact; responds promptly to complaints.             
    • Oversees the development and maintenance of various records, reports and forms for  patient care and control of operations.         
    • Ensures that all state and federal regulatory standards (DHEC, DNV etc.) are being followed and enforced.
  • Personnel              
    • Supports Practice Managers and staff of assigned LMC physician practices and other  personnel as needed.           
    • Provides for adequate orientation programs, ensures that employees are evaluated  on a timely basis and are promoted, disciplined, or terminated as appropriate, following  organizational procedures.           
    • Proves for the implementation of continuing education and in-service programs on a regular basis. Maintains a process for own self-development and continuing education.  
    • Seeks to enhance employees’ sense of self-worth and assists them to reach their full  potential.             
    • Develops and/or reviews job descriptions; recruits and hires personnel.    
    • Serves in support capacity to assist practices with complex HR issues.
  • Practice Relations             
    • Develops and maintains positive practice staff relationships and assists in recruitment  of staff as needed.            
    • Works closely with practice to develop and maintain operations for providing quality care.              
    • Develop referral and communication mechanisms, responds to practice concerns and  encourages their input.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support Systems             
    • Ensures that all systems necessary for patient care and operation of the facility are in  place and managed effectively and efficiently, to include:  communication and  information systems, equipment availability and functioning, acquisition and monitoring  of supplies and upkeep of the physical building.        
    • Assist Practice Managers and Assistant Vice President with coordinating services  with support departments (IS, Engineering, Purchasing, etc.).
  • Financial Systems             
    • Ensures the efficiency of operations with minimized expenses and maximized  revenues.             
    • Assist with the annual operating and capital budgets for approval by administration  and organizes operations to follow the budgetary plans.      
    • Assist with procurement and installation of equipment.
  • Organizational Development           
    • Participates in development of the goals and objectives of the Physician Network and  assists with implementation.          
    • Ensures the cooperation and coordination of all departments and personnel.   
    • Monitors and analyzes practice activities, preparing reports for review by Administration.            
    • Participates in organizational committees for reviewing operations and assisting the  further development of the organization.         
    • Organizes and participates in marketing strategies and program development.   
    • Develops methods to inform the public and attract business, participates in community  activities and initiates contact with community organizations as a representative of the  Physician Network.            
    • Represents LMC and the Physician Network to patients, physicians, staff and the  community in a manner that promotes the organization and communicates a  commitment to its goals.           
    • Position requires excellent written and communication skills.  Position requires the  employee to occasionally speak in front of small or large groups.  Strong public  speaking skills are essential.          
    • Position requires ability to multi-task, lead others, plan projects to successful  completion and work independently.
