Job Summary

To provide quality health care services through the direction and supervision of services across the Healthcare system in Cardiac Imaging, EKG, and Cardiac Rehab. Provides services for inpatients and outpatients. Duties include planning, organizing, and directing personnel to meet the need of the patient utilizing established standards of care. Responsible and accountable for overall operations, quality assurance, patient satisfaction and financial management of all departments. Advanced decision making and problem solving required.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Allied Health, Business Management, or related field

 

Minimum Years of Experience: 5 Years of Leadership Experience

 

Substitutable Education & Experience: A Bachelor's Degree with 5 Years can be substituted for an Associate's Degree with 7 years of Leadership Experience.

 

Required Certifications/Licensure: *If candidate hired is a registered nurse, then appropriate specialty certification is required within 2 years of being hired; Current SC Board License (as applicable).

Essential Functions

  • Leads and directs operations of all areas of responsibility - Cardiac Imaging, EKG, and Cardiac Rehab.
  • Plans and provide quality services to meet the needs of the Health District.
  • Responsible for DNV- preparedness activities for the departments as well as all other process improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance (DHEC, DNV, CMS, and CAP).
  • Develops departmental goals and objectives that align with the hospital’s strategic plan annually.
  • Assesses the progress on the goals periodically and adjusts operations to ensure the Department’s success in meeting the goals for the year. Reports periodically and during annual performance appraisal to the VP.
  • Develops, reviews and/or revises departmental policies and procedures as needed.
  • Develops an annual Performance Improvement Plan for each department.
  • Prepares and makes recommendations for the annual budget – both Operating and Capital for all departments.
  • Is responsible and accountable for the utilization of fiscal resources for all departments.
  • Submits justification for budget variances monthly (via budget system) and prepares an annual financial summary.
  • Develops a long range equipment replacement plan; ensures routine maintenance is current.
  • Maintains high physician and patient satisfaction with services provided.
    • Serves on patient satisfaction committee for OP Services
    • Monthly presentations to the Patient Satisfaction Team.
    • Assists in planning patient satisfaction celebrations for OP Services.
    • Respects, understands, and responds with sensitivity to employees and guests by treating others as one would wish to be treated.  
    • Exhibits commitment and pride through personal example by speaking positively about LMC, the departments, employees and guests.
  • Supports the hospital’s Service Expectations policies and guidelines; leads areas by example in Service Excellence.
  • Works closely with Human Resources (business partner and recruiters) to recruit, hire and retain competent, qualified individuals.
    • Ensures fair and equitable in hiring and disciplining of personnel.
    • Manages staff by establishing staff performance goals; assessing daily staffing needs and reallocating staff resources as needed; provides leadership, motivation and direction to staff, building teamwork and fostering team cohesion.
    • Encourages and gives recognition to staff for performance above and beyond performance expectations.
    • Ensures all employees are trained according to established departmental policies and     procedures; to include orientation and training of new employees, retraining for existing employees, and continuous training of all employees.
    • Promotes professional growth and development for staff through seminars, continuing education programs and with the introduction of new products/ equipment for each area.
    • Ensures staff adherence to hospital policies following all safety rules and regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Consistently demonstrates strong leadership to the managers/supervisors in the areas of responsibility.
  • Attends necessary hospital functions and promotes positive image of the departments and the hospital.
  • Participates and may serve on various committees both inside and outside the hospital concerning hospital related activities.
  • Responsible for continuing education of self and for promoting continuing education to departmental staff.
  • Maintains confidentiality by: 
    • Discouraging gossip.
    • Using discretion when discussing sensitive issues or patient matters.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
