Job Summary

This is a supervisory position that primarily oversees the operation of teacher- to- student ratios under the direction of the CDC Manager and the CDC Director. This position also acts as a liaison between the CDC staff, and the Manager/Director of the CDC, and the CDC customers.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Development or Equivalent.
Minimum Years of Experience: 5 Years of experience working in an Early Childhood Development Program.
Substitutable Education & Experience: None.
Required Certifications/Licensure: PR and First Aid Certification (may be obtained after employment).
Required Training: 20 Hours of DSS Training

Essential Functions
  • Role models appropriate interactions and teaching techniques in the classroms as needed.
  • Supervises assigned staff in conjuction with the Director and Manager which includes observations, coaching, documentation, and appropriate disciplinary actions submitted to Human Resources.
  • Works with teachers to provide safety for all procedures and well being of the children in the classroom.
  • Comply with DSS, DHEC regulations. (family style dining, classroom arrangements, and lesson plans)
  • Serves as the manager in charge if requested by the Director or Manager.
  • Orientates new employees to the opening/closing procedures and completes the training checklist.
  • Resolves conflicts and problem solves independently
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Is proactive in identifying opportunities for improvements that promote best practices for young children.
  • Obtains feedback from parents regarding satisfaction with program and ideas for improvement.
  • Fills in when teachers have appointments, need breaks, or lunch hours.
  • Ensure proper staff ratios as mandated by DSS at the start of your shift.
  • Work with Administrative Assistant to provide timely luches for staff.
  • Debrief the Evening Shift Supervisor including placement of staff, pick up changes, and daily CDC status update.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
